AI+ Local tracks which local businesses the major AI assistants recommend, by city, area, and category, refreshed every week. We query the five assistants people actually use: ChatGPT (OpenAI), Gemini (Google), Claude (Anthropic), Perplexity, and Grok (xAI), each in its live, web-connected mode.
Because each assistant is a black box with its own preferences, the most revealing view is where they disagree: who one names that the others ignore, and who they all converge on. The sample below shows three categories in one market.
